Agency Update: Gender Equality, 2020 Election, and More

The Boyhood Global Initiative Educates Parents and Caretakers

Graphic for Entertain Impact's social impact campaign: the Global Boyhood Initiative

Created by Promundo and the Kering Foundation in partnership with Plan International, the Global Boyhood Initiative is an social impact campaign to equip adults with the tools and resources to raise, teach, and coach boys (aged 4-13) to share emotions in healthy ways, accept and connect with others, stand up and speak out against inequality, and break free from stereotypes. The Global Boyhood Initiative’s ultimate goal is to advance gender equality and prevent gender-based violence.

In addition to helping these amazing organizations source more quality volunteers (like you), we’re also helping them fundraise. If you support Boyhood Initiative’s efforts for gender equality, donate here or check out this toolkit and help spread the word.

The Election Is Almost Here

Ahead of the election this November we created Sooner Is Better, a social impact campaign to take the guesswork out of political activism and facilitate a mass mobilization of voters. We vetted 40+ initiatives to find 6 high-impact organizations with meaningful volunteer opportunities centered on registering voters and increasing turnout.

With all of the challenges we’re facing this fall, taking time to make a plan to vote has never been more important. Have you made yours yet? Don’t wait.

Check out WHEN WE ALL VOTE and get started today. Register to vote, request your ballot by mail, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

In addition to helping these amazing organizations source more quality volunteers (like you!), we’re also helping them fundraise. Finally, if you like what we’re doing, check out this toolkit and help spread the word.

It’s More Important Than Ever to Shop Locally

We’re working on a campaign to support the small business community, which has been hit especially hard in the recent months. We’ll tell you about that campaign soon. For now, we want to share what we’ve learned.

Did you know that when you shop locally, not only are you supporting a small business, but you’re also making a direct investment into your own neighborhood? Here’s how:

  • Invests in the Local Economy. For every $1 spent at a local business, $0.45 goes back into the community through wages, taxes, and support of other local businesses (e.g. accountants, electricians, designers, etc.) which all contribute to the local economy (Fundera). This supports your neighborhood’s schools, parks, services, and infrastructure!
  • Supports Grassroots and Community Causes. On average, small businesses donate 250% more to community organizations and charities than larger businesses do (Fundera).
  • Keeps Communities Unique. Regular foot traffic has an impact on the spirit and feel of a neighborhood. With the rise of online shopping, support for local brick-and-mortar businesses is more important than ever to keep communities alive and flourishing (Atlantic).
